Lansing Waste Water Treatment Plant
Gerace Construction constructed a 2.6 Million gallon retention treatment basin for the City of East Lansing. The purpose of this project was to prevent untreated combined sewer overflow from discharging directly into the Red Cedar River. When construction was completed Gerace Construction placed nearly 9000 cubic yards of structural concrete. Challenging Aspects of the job included dewatering and keeping the site dewatered which was located 30' below ground level adjacent to the Red Cedar River. The 180 x 180' structure was surrounded by sheet pile installed by Gerace. To keep this area dewatered we used (14) 12" dewatering wells.
